12 London and the Second World War, 1939-45

For the module Warfare and British Society, 1250-present, students will have familiarised themselves with key features in the development of warfare through time, as well as the nature and process of change. They will have established the role of governments and individuals; science, technology and communications; and attitudes in society to how warfare developed. In line with this course’s specifications, the historic environment of London in the Second World War will be examined.
