Please can you answer my poll on curriculum time. This is further to an earlier post I did where History at my school has been cut to 30 mins a week in year 7 and 8 , and one hour a week in year 9 despite it being the most popular GCSE option. Thank you in advance .

Yr 7 get something called LinC2 (no idea what it stands for) which is History, Geog, RE and English combined, they get nine hours a week of this, however it is delivered by the English dept so they don't really get much history.

Yr 8 - two hours a week.

Yr 9 - they have started their GCSE course (although not in the History dept as we think a three yr GCSE is not good so are teaching them general history with a focus on skills) and they get three hours a week.

You're scared of mice and spiders, but oh-so-much greater is your fear that one day the two species will cross-breed to form an all-powerful race of mice-spiders, who will immobilize human beings in giant webs in order to steal cheese.

We have just had our new curriculum allocation for next academic year and we are going to have two x1hour lessons at key stage three and three X11 hour lessons at key stage four! Some subjects have been reduced to one hour at key stage three but we have stayed the same!
