Introducing this alongside the current history GCSE is being discussed at a curriculum meeting next week. My degree is in Ancient history so I'm confident at teaching the content - just wondering if anybody else is currently running it and what they're feelings are on it. I think that it will appeal to a different pupils (and also to the pupils who love all history) due to the style of the course and of course the different time period.

Can pupils do both history GCSE (we do AQA A) and ancient history GCSE (I did both for A level but wasn't sure if you could do this for GCSE)?

Hi - I have been running this alongside MW for the last 4 years and it works really well

You do need to make sure that the pupils who take it have decent literacy levels or they will struggle.

We do Greeks, Kings, Agrippina and Egypt

PM me if you want any more info
