KS3 Britain’s Place in the World After 1945 Resources

World War Two had a significant impact on the world and Britain in particular. Following the end of WWII in 1945, Britain was saddled with massive debts, a need to rebuild the country, and significant demand for labour to make up for casualties of the war. With these factors as well as colonies in Africa and India demanding their independence, the British empire began to collapse. This brought about significant changes to Britain’s social structure, patterns of migration, influence on the world stage, and participation in international organisations.

Learn more about Britain’s place in the world after 1945, which includes the nature of postwar Britain, how the Second World War affected Britain’s colonial rule, the establishment of the Commonwealth of Nations, and Britain’s membership of international organisations with our KS3 resources. You’ll find Student Activities, Lesson Presentation, and Revision Notes ready to download below. KS3 resources are ideally suited for Years 7, 8 and 9, or ages 11-14.
