KS3 Seven Years War and the American War of Independence Resources

Lasting from 1756 to 1763, the Seven Years’ War was a conflict that involved most of the great European powers. It initially consisted of two conflicts between Britain and France, and between Prussia and France, Austria,Russia and Sweden that was rooted in an Austrian succession crisis. The war also involved the United States where it’s known as the French and Indian War. As it spread as far as India, some historians consider this conflict the first global war. Occurring at a time when colonising countries was a heated competition, the war centred on confrontations between Britain, France, Spain and Austria over trade interests.
