  • In June 1938 the Reich Criminal Police Office ordered each regional police headquarters to send a minimum number of arrestees
  • This led to raids on doss-houses, overnight shelters and hostels
  • It resulted with arrest of 11.000 people
  • They were sent to ‘labour and improvement camps’, which actually meant slave labour camp
  • The aim of this policy: ‘racial hygiene’ – in other words to purify the German Volk by removing undesirable inherited tendencies
