Anyone else have any thoughts on the AS exam yesterday?

We do the French Revolution. The topic was post terror which has not been examined before. Fortunately I spent a bit more time on this and made it clear that it might come up. Students felt it was hard and at least one of the sources I see where they would have struggled.

Is this paper harder than previous years, or is the examiner covering rarely covered parts of the spec this year?

Our lot do Germany 1933 - 1963.  Their question was on the church and Nazi society/regime - quite niche, so I would agree in that they were looking at a quite specific area.  That being said, after last year's controversy of 'unqualified success' on the same paper (a term that many students were not familiar with), the questions were much more straight forward.  In fact, on the F961/02 Domestic Issues paper the questions seemed very simple, as well!
