KS3 Mughal India 1526-1857

Lasting from 1526 to 1857, the Mughal Empire is considered to be one of the greatest Indian Islamic states in history and a precursor to the British Indian Empire. From its founding in 1526 by Turkish prince and military crusader Babur, born as Zahir ud-Din Mohammad, after the defeat of Afghan Sultan Ibrahim Lodi, Babur regarded himself as the emperor at Delhi and began his conquest.
