Exam Paper Details
Students following WJEC are required to write one Thematic study from a choice of four topics for Unit 3: Thematic studies from a broad historical perspective. The Thematic Study will include the study of an appropriate historic site and its significance. Each study will be assessed by compulsory questions focusing extensively on second-order historical concepts including continuity, change, cause, consequence, significance, similarity, and difference. The paper is 1 hour and 15 minutes long and accounts for 30% of GCSE.
